Children's Philanthropy

History

In 1941, The Woman's Club of Rye, Inc. established a section for younger women, called the Junior Section, composed of 25 members between the ages of 18 and 30. In 1984, the age restriction

was removed and our membership was increased to 50 members. In 2005, the "Junior Section" was renamed to "The Woman's Club of Rye, Children's Philanthropy section".

Today, we are a group of women whose primary purpose is to work together raising money to benefit the children of Rye.  Our funds are distributed to qualifying institutions, agencies and groups who support scholarships and/or cultural, educational, emotional or recreational enrichment. The organization holds monthly business meetings from September through May to plan fund raising events.
